‘ABest AVI Video Converter’, as the name suggests, is an AVI converter. As input files it supports AVI, DIVX, and XVID but the list of output files is a little bigger.
It can convert the input files to AVI, MPEG, MOV, RM, WMV, SWF, FLV, and it can also save images out of your movies. For each output file you have a list of settings like video or audio settings, output file path, and width or height of the output video. You can trim the movie and preview it in the inbuilt player.
While testing the program I’ve noticed that the speed of the conversion is low and while converting a file the CPU usage of this application is 100%. The user interface is simple and intuitive but too colored. The color of the status bar distracts your attention from other important infos like split, span and other settings. Two of the three buttons are for registering and purchasing the program. I think this is enough to see the main interest of the producer. Anything for the money and if the software is an average one, they don’t care. I’m disappointed to see such an attitude.
